SAFEGUARDING & CHILD WELFARE

The Welfare Officer role is to work with the players, club and leagues to lead and provide clarity in ensuring the clubs responsibilities when running activities for children and young people. They will help the clubs personnel to recognise safeguarding it is everyone’s responsibility and to actively play their part.. The Welfare Officers must have an in date FA Accepted Enhanced with Children’s Barring List Check, have attended the FA Safeguarding Children Training course, and attended the Welfare Officer Workshop Training as a pre-requisite to become a Welfare Officer.

Please review the our Safe Guarding Children Policy here River Juniors Safeguard

It is vitally important that everyone associated with River Juniors knows who the Welfare Officers are, and how to contact them, especially the players, parents and coaches.  Our Welfare Officer is Ray Woodhouse, who is part the clubs committee, and can be contacted via the contact us page or on our Facebook page.

As a large Junior Football Club, we always encourage additional welfare officer(s) to support the club. If you would like to help with Children’s Welfare, and work as a volunteer, please contact us.
