Training Update

Updates will take place from 7th September 2020.

After reading the below information please note if you are unhappy with the restrictions for training or are unhappy with the day/time you have been allocated please email riverjuniors@outlook.com with the subject heading ‘Training Issue’.

Any discussion regarding the changes or direct messages regarding the changes will not be dealt with via whatsapp or text, email only.

You will read about the problems we are dealing with in terms of losing facilities so we can’t and won’t be doing anything against the wishes of the venue provider. We can’t alter and change things because they don’t suit or fit with a very small number of people. Any decisions have been made that enable us to provide the most football in the best environment possible.

We also will not continue to allow children to attend if adults are not following the venue rules.

Training Update

Before reading about the plans for each venue please be aware as a club, these are the major problems we have due to the Covid-19 situation:

· We have lost the equivalent of 6 hours use of a full 11 a side 3G/4G pitch across the week.

· We have no weekend use at present so whilst some leagues will start some teams who use Archbishop Beck may not be able to play home games at the venue.

· We have lost a total of 8 hours of indoor hall use across 2 venues.

· Some pre team age groups may not be back training for the whole of September.

· We are planning on a month by month basis using information we receive from the venues.

· We are having to plan for now but also consider a smooth transition to normal regular use as easy as possible as and when restrictions are lifted.

Any decisions we make regarding training times and venues have been looked at and thought about in great depth.

The below plans for each venue are nothing to do with club decisions, they are venue provider decisions that we must adhere to in order to be able to use the facilities. There are different rules at the 2 venues, we can only work within the rules and allocate teams/age groups as best we can.

Archbishop Beck High School

The school have advised that parents are not allowed anywhere near the training/playing area. They are not allowed to remain onsite, unless their children are U8 or younger and then parents must remain in their car.

Any U9 and older players must be dropped off at or be brought to the front gate (to be met by a coach or the manager) in a 10 minute window prior to the session starting they will then be escorted to the pitch. At the end of the session players will be escorted to the back car park entrance & we will have a collection point at the gate where parents will drive around, remain in the car and we will call children forward to be get in to their car.

This is not ideal but it is the only circumstances in which we can get agreement on using the facility so we will adhere to this request.

There will be a pop up temporary portable camping toilet on site as the only toilet. No one is allowed to go indoor at the facility.

Jeffrey Humbles Football Hub

For training and games Jeffrey Humbles there will be a 1 to 1, child plus parent (no one else) ratio on site and entering the facility.

Face masks must be worn from entering the front door through to the back door before you go out to the pitches.

The usual café facilities will not be available and toilets will be somewhere different (TBC). No one will be able to even sit inside the café area.

That’s the latest information we have. I appreciate some people may not be happy with that but unfortunately this is the best we can make of the situation. As a club we really don’t want to have these restrictions, the additional time and effort in to organising, monitoring and reviewing the rules and guidelines is something we really haven’t got the time for but we are doing so to get children playing football.

Having read the information please make sure you are familiar with the rules of the venue you are attending.

As a club we are really in a difficult moment, we are trying to meet government guidelines, work with venues, work with leagues all around covid-19, this time of year is always the busiest anyway without these additional complications.

You will have been notified with a link to this page of your training time.

Thanks.
